Nicolás Correa Service, S.A. retrofits and sells two DECKEL MAHO 5 axis machining centres

Two DECKEL MAHO 5-axis vertical machining centres, model DMU 50eVolution, were sold last May to two Italian companies following a retrofit by NC Service.

In its endeavour to meet the growing market demand for other types of machine-tools, NC Service is currently engaged in a strategic plan directed at broadening its offer, not only with regard to the retrofitting of CORREA milling machines, but also the retrofitting and sale of other types of stock removal machinery.

With this aim in mind, NC Service acquired two vertical machining centres, made by DECKEL MAHO, model DMU 50 eVolution, on the second-hand market. These machines are characterised by their rapid precision machining of extremely lightweight materials, while they are exceedingly dynamic and feature innovative technology. Furthermore, the tilting rotary work table provides two more machining axes, making it the ideal machine for 5-axis machining work.

Both machining centres, made back in 2002 and 2003, had very similar characteristics, such as a Heidenhain TNC-530 numeric control, automatic tool changer for 60 and 32 tools respectively, a high capacity cooling system and an electro-spindle with speeds of up to 18,000 RPM.

Following the retrofit work by the NC Service technicians, these centres were purchased by two Italian companies, to be used for the mechanical processing of small scale plastic and metal items. With this purchase, both companies managed to increase the quality of the finish of their products, thanks to the considerable precision of these machining centres, certified during the retrofitting work made by NC Service.
